Do you want to be healthier, but don’t have the resources to reach your goal?

For the second year in a row, All About Women is launching the Inspiring Women Scholarship! Last year the scholarship went to the Tied Together Smoking Cessation Program, and empowered a group of women to fight against their tobacco addictions. AAW is proud to announce that there are even more funds available for deserving groups of women in 2014. This year we will be giving out three scholarships – two for $2,000 and one for $1,000.

The “Inspiring Women” Scholarship was created to honor AAW founder Sally Smallwood for her work to serve the health needs of women.

Applying groups must consist of three or more women. Examples include family, friends, neighbors, coworkers or classmates who will work together over the course of one year to make a positive change in their lives. There is no maximum number of participants, but proposal cost cannot exceed $2,000.

Examples of positive changes include losing weight, quitting smoking, eating healthier, starting and sustaining a fitness program, lowering blood pressure and/or blood sugar. The more original the idea, the more consideration it will receive.

Applications are due by 4 p.m. on March 31st. The application is available here as a Word doc or as a PDF.

AAW received a lot of worthy applicants last year, but there was not enough funding to support them all. If your organization applied for the scholarship last year, we urge you to apply again! 2014 might just be your year.
