Walk into Z’s home, and you’re immediately surrounded by her warm decor, plants everywhere and the smell of something delicious baking wafting through the house. Don’t even try to leave without eating; Z won’t let you. A late 40-something, at least she got the marriage thing right . . . the second time around, even if he’s on the road half the week. Z’s life is filled with chauffering her 10-year-old son, fielding calls from her 24-year-old daughter, volunteering at her church and addressing her tennants’ needs. In fact, sometimes Z is so wrapped up in taking care of others, that she forgets herself. So next time you’re at her house, make sure she eats something too.
Got something to say to Z? Let her know.
